APC LEADERS IN AKURE SOUTH PRAISE DERIN ADESIDA'S HUMAN EMPOWERMENT INITIATIVE'S
Leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akure South Local Government have commended the member representing Akure North/Akure South Federal Constituency, Derin Adesida, for his commitment to human empowerment, youth development, and impactful representation ahead of the party primary election.
The strategic stakeholders’ meeting, held on the final day before the APC primary election, brought together party leaders, ward coordinators, former political office holders, and grassroots mobilizes across Akure South Local Government.
Among those in attendance were Hon. Gbenga Adeniyi, Hon. Abidakun Tayo (Jaja), Chief Bankole Ajayi, Elder Ayo Aloba, Hon. Roseline Kolawole, Hon. Akinfolayan, Hon. Isijola, Mrs. Ogungbade, Chief Olu Ojo, former Special Assistants to the Governor, past supervisory councillors, leaders from various wards, and other party stakeholders.
Hon. Gbenga Adeniyi appreciated Hon. Derin Adesida for what he described as effective and people-oriented legislative representation. He highlighted the importance of continuity in governance and representation, stressing that retaining a ranking member in the House of Representatives would bring greater opportunities, stronger influence, and more developmental projects to the federal constituency.
Hon. Isijola also appealed to party members and stakeholders to remain united and support Hon. Derin Adesida at the forthcoming APC primary election, noting that continuity remains key to sustaining development and attracting more federal presence to the constituency.
Former Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Hon. Ojo Wande, gave a detailed analysis of the achievements of Hon. Derin Adesida from his first tenure between 2007–2011 and his current tenure from 2023 till date.
According to him, the federal lawmaker has facilitated employment opportunities for youths into several paramilitary agencies including the Nigeria Customs Service, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Nigerian Navy, and Nigeria Police Force. He also highlighted the distribution of transformers to communities, construction of classroom blocks with instructional materials, provision of boreholes in public primary schools, intending road construction projects in Akure South, facilitation of a sub-station along the Akure–Ado Ekiti road, and another power sub-station beside Farmer Congress.
Hon. Ojo wande further praised Hon. Derin Adesida for facilitating solar streetlight installations across parts of the federal constituency and for his continued investment in human capacity development through job facilitation and empowerment initiatives.
He disclosed that another phase of massive youth employment opportunities is already underway, describing the lawmaker as a strong believer in human empowerment and investment in human lives through meaningful job opportunities.
Hon. Derin Adesida appreciated the leaders and stakeholders for their support and confidence in his leadership. He reaffirmed his commitment to empowering the people through employment facilitation and impactful programmes capable of improving lives across the constituency.
The federal lawmaker disclosed that the first phase of his empowerment programme would commence in June, while another phase is scheduled for December this year.
He also explained the long-term benefits of continuity in legislative representation, noting that experienced and ranking lawmakers attract greater federal attention, strategic committee positions, and more developmental projects for their constituencies.
Prince Dapo commended the achievements of Hon. Derin Adesida and assured party members that the planned massive employment opportunities are real and already in progress. He urged APC members and stakeholders to support the lawmaker during the primary election to ensure continuity of impactful representation and greater opportunities for the constituency.
The meeting ended with renewed commitment from party leaders and stakeholders to work together for the victory of Hon. Derin Adesida at the APC primary election while sustaining the vision of continuity, empowerment, and development across Akure North/Akure South Federal Constituency.
