NDDC and Jummy I Care Foundation celebrate International Women's Day 2026 in Ondo State, training women on non-oil export, NAFDAC compliance, packaging, and digital trade.
Theme: "Rights, Justice, Action for Women and Girls"
The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), in collaboration with the NDDC Board and the Jummy I Care Foundation, host the International Women's Day 2026 Celebration in Ondo State under the inspiring theme, "Rights, Justice, Action for Women and Girls."
The programme is designed to celebrate, inspire, and empower women by providing practical knowledge, creating economic opportunities, and promoting sustainable development across the Niger Delta region.
As part of the celebration, participants benefit from a special Guest Speakers' Session designed to equip women with practical knowledge on entrepreneurship, non-oil export opportunities, product certification, packaging standards, digital trade, and international commerce.
Mrs. Florence Orenedu-Okafor, Ondo State Coordinator of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) deliver a presentation on Non-Oil Export Opportunities and Export Readiness, highlighting the vast opportunities available in the export sector and how aspiring exporters can position themselves for success.
Mrs. Toyosi Akinwunmi of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) speak on Export Procedures and Documentation, providing participants with practical guidance on the processes and documentation required for successful export transactions.
Mr. Ogidi Felix Olatunji of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Ondo State discuss Product Certification and Regulatory Compliance, emphasizing the importance of meeting regulatory standards for products intended for both local and international markets.
Mr. Chukwuemeka Okeke of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) present a session on Packaging Standards for Export Products, educating participants on modern packaging requirements that enhance product quality and competitiveness in the global marketplace.
Mr. Austin Pelemo, Representative of the NDDC Board on the Niger Delta Chambers of Industry, Trade, Mines and Agriculture (NDCCITMA) deliver a presentation on Digital Trade and E-Commerce Opportunities, focusing on how women can leverage technology and digital platforms to expand their businesses and access international markets.
The event will also feature the presentation of Certificates of Participation to all participants by Chief (Dr.) Mrs. Jumoke Abegunde, Yeye Asiwaju of Akure Kingdom and Founder/Chief Executive Officer of the Jummy I Care Foundation and also deliver the Vote of Thanks, expressing appreciation to the NDDC Board, Management, guest speakers, participants, partners, and all stakeholders whose support contributed to the success of the programme.
This knowledge-sharing session reflects the unwavering commitment of the NDDC Board, the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), and the Jummy I Care Foundation to empowering women through education, skills development, innovation, and economic opportunities.
