Today, Monday, 31st August 2026 @ Kabiesi Olubaka's Palace in Oka Akoko in Akoko Southwest LGA by 9.am, The Ondo State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development in collaboration with the Ondo State Contributory Health Commission will be commencing  the second phase of the Widows Care :An Initiative Of His Excellency Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, The Governor of Ondo State to Widows in Ondo State, The Programme will feature  Medical Outreach (Free Health Checks, Free Health Tests, Free Drugs and Insurance health Schemes), Engagements and Financial grants To 1000  Widows across three LGAs Of Ondo State in Commemoration of the 2026  International Widows Day with the Theme,Justice, Dignity and Economic  Empowerment  of widows.


The International Widows Day's  Commemoration is to celebrate the most vulnerable among us, Women who as a result of the death of their spouses  are  facing  extreme poverty and hardship by engaging and encouraging them  to further  build their resilience and restore their dignity. Last year was beautiful, This year will be glorious.
