2027 Elections: Oluwaseyi Adetunji Preaches Peace, Issue-Based Campaigns Ahead of Presidential Flag-Off

PRESS STATEMENT

2027 GENERAL ELECTIONS: AS APC CAMPAIGN ACTIVITIES COMMENCE, AKURE SOUTH YOUTH LEADER CALLS FOR ISSUE-BASED CAMPAIGNING, PEACEFUL PARTICIPATION AND ACCOUNTABLE LEADERSHIP

As preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum, with the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign flag-off scheduled for October 24, 2026, in Kaduna, I call on party members, political stakeholders, youth leaders and residents of Akure South and Ondo Central Senatorial District to embrace peaceful participation, issue-based campaigning and constructive political engagement.

As the APC Youth Leader in Akure South, I consider this campaign season an opportunity to strengthen our grassroots structures, mobilise responsible youth participation and promote meaningful discussions on the future of our communities and Nigeria.

At the presidential level, our party is rallying behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as its candidate for the 2027 general elections. As campaign activities commence, we must communicate the party’s programmes, engage citizens on its policies and encourage constructive conversations about governance, economic opportunities and national development.

In Ondo Central and across our constituencies, the campaign will also provide an opportunity to engage with our candidates and communicate their visions for the people. These include:

- Presidential: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

- Senatorial, Ondo Central: Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire.

- House of Representatives, Akure South/Akure North Federal Constituency: Hon. Omowunmi Olatunji Ohwovoriole.

- House of Assembly, Akure South Constituency I: Hon. Adeola Rosemary Fynch.

- House of Assembly, Akure South Constituency II: Hon. Stephen Abitogun.

Our campaign must go beyond political slogans and mobilisation. It must address the real concerns of our people, particularly youth unemployment, education, skills acquisition, security, infrastructure, healthcare, economic empowerment and sustainable community development.

I urge young people across Akure South and Ondo Central to participate actively and responsibly in the democratic process. Young people must not be treated merely as instruments of political mobilisation; they deserve meaningful inclusion in decision-making, opportunities for personal development and a voice in shaping policies that affect their future.

I also call on party members, supporters and political stakeholders to conduct themselves with maturity, respect differing opinions, reject political violence and refrain from spreading misinformation. Our political differences must never become a source of hostility or division within our communities.

As we begin this important phase of the journey towards 2027, I reaffirm my commitment to grassroots mobilisation, youth inclusion, party unity and peaceful political engagement in Akure South and beyond.

Our campaign must be about the people, our message must address their needs, and our leadership must remain accountable to the people we seek to serve.

Let us move forward with unity, discipline and a shared commitment to a peaceful and progressive democratic process.

Signed,

Com. Oluwaseyi Adetunji

APC Youth Leader, Akure South Local Government,

Ondo State.
