"End of a Remarkable Era"

Akinterinwa Mourns Fashoranti 's Death

Former Commissioner for Finance, Wale Akinterinwa has expressed sadness of the passage of Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fashoranti, describing his exit as a momentous end of a remarkable era.

In a personally signed statement, Akinterinwa paid glowing tributes to pa Fashoranti and concluded that his death has created a vacuum too difficult to fill. "

Pa Reuben Fashoranti was a man of uncommon passion, a great teacher, a progressive ideologue, a community leader and a role model...

Baba was a pride to Ondo State, an asset to Yorubaland and a treasure to Nigeria as a nation... Though he lived for over 100 years, he remained robustly relevant, conspicuously consistent and audaciously dependable till he gave up the ghost.

Indeed, Pa Fashoranti 's departure has left a huge vacuum that's too difficult to fill" Akinterinwa wrote.

While commiserating with the Fashoranti family and associates over the passage of their patriarch, the former APC governorship aspirant urged them to do everything possible to sustain the legacy of service and integrity which characterised the life and times of the late Afenifere leader.

THE BIG BROTHER NAIJA PHENOMENON: A THREAT TO SOCIETAL VALUES By: Amb. Eki David Greg, MKO (08100247710) When the winds of change blow, some people build walls, while others build windmills." In the face of the Big Brother Naija (BBN) phenomenon, it's high time we assessed its impact on our society and decided whether to build walls of protection or windmills of indulgence. THE NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF BBN BBN has become a showcase for all sorts of negativity, promoting: 1.  Moral decay: Explicit content and behavior that can desensitize viewers to immoral acts. 2. Unhealthy competition: Emphasis on competition and conflict that can foster envy and quarrelsome behavior. 3. Lack of role models: Contestants' actions and attitudes that can shape young minds in a negative way. A CALL FOR ACTION "The future belongs to those who prepare for it today." It's time for our government, parents, religious leaders, academias, and activists to take a stand against programs lik...
