AMINU MALLE PhD JOINS DR. SAVIOUR ENYIEKERE TO UNVEIL AMBITIOUS ROADMAP FOR 6TH NATIONAL ASSEMBLY SERVICE COMMISSION

The 6th National Assembly Service Commission (NASC) has embarked on a transformative journey with the launch of a weeklong induction and retreat programme in Ikot-Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, aimed at crafting a strategic roadmap for the next five years.


This pivotal event underscores the Commission’s critical role in providing efficient manpower to support Nigeria’s National Assembly.


Among the key figures at the retreat is Dr. Aminu Malle, the North East Federal Commissioner, who joined Executive Chairman Chief Dr. Saviour Enyiekere in outlining a bold vision for the Commission. Facilitated by the Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre (PLAC) with support from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), the programme was declared open by Senate President Senator Godswill Akpabio, represented by Senator Cyril Fasuyi, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Establishment and Public Service.


Dr. Enyiekere, in his address, unveiled the policy thrust of the 6th Commission, emphasizing excellence, integrity, and public trust as core pillars. He highlighted priorities such as professional development, employee welfare, accountability, transparency, and digitization of operations, while committing to eliminating staff stagnation. 


Dr. Aminu Malle, a distinguished academic and representative of the North East, reinforced the Commission’s commitment to fostering a dynamic and responsive legislative support system.


The Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Elder Udeme James Otong, described the NASC as the “engine room” of the National Assembly, urging the leadership, including Dr. Malle and Dr. Enyiekere, to build a legacy of impactful reforms that strengthen Nigeria’s democratic framework.


The retreat has sparked optimism about the NASC’s potential to enhance the efficiency and credibility of the National Assembly. Senator Fasuyi, representing Senate President Akpabio, praised the Commissioners, including Dr. Malle, as custodians of a vital institution tasked with sustaining legislative stability.


The collaborative presence of leaders like Dr. Malle and Dr. Enyiekere signals a unified approach to tackling the challenges of Nigeria’s evolving democratic landscape.


As the 6th NASC sets its sights on innovation and stakeholder engagement, the combined expertise and vision of its leadership are poised to drive meaningful progress, ensuring the Commission remains a cornerstone of effective governance in Nigeria.
