Honourable Minister of Youth Development in Nigeria Hon Ayodele Olawande just concluded a meeting with the team from Huawei Technologies to explore a strategic Public-Private Partnership aimed at developing the newly transferred Skill Acquisition Centre in Agadagba-Obon, Ondo State. 





The facility, originally built by the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs (now the Ministry of Regional Development), was recently handed over to the Federal Ministry of Youth Development for full management and repurposing. Our engagement with Huawei marks a significant step in our efforts to transform the Centre into a full-fledged National Youth Camp and to serve as a modern hub for ICT and digital skills training for the young people of Nigeria. 







Huawei, with its global expertise in digital innovation and infrastructure, has expressed keen interest in supporting with the integration of cutting-edge technology and alternative energy. The discussion is focused on areas such as software development, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and digital entrepreneurship—critical fields that align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the Ministry’s mandate to empower young Nigerians through relevant, future-ready skills. By combining public policy with private sector capacity, The ministry of youth development hope to provide meaningful opportunities for our youth, especially in the underserved riverine and rural communities.


This meeting with Huawei is only the beginning. Honourable Ayodele Olawande wish to reaffirm his firm commitment to actively seek and foster partnerships with key stakeholders across sectors to ensure the Agadagba facility is not only brought back to life but transformed into a beacon of hope and productivity. The Minister promised to work tirelessly to ensure this Centre serves as a launchpad for innovation, entrepreneurship, and youth development across the region and the country at large.
