TARABA APC YOUTH STAKEHOLDERS MEET NATIONAL ASSEMBLY MEMBERS TO FORGE UNITY AND POLITICAL RELEVANCE

​A delegation of Taraba State All Progressives Congress (APC) youth stakeholders earliar this afternoon, converged a pivotal meeting and a series of courtesy visits to key National Assembly members, focusing on strengthening youth unity and political engagement within the state and at national level. 


The initiative, which included a visit to the office of Rt. Hon. Mark Bako Useni, PhD, representing Takum/Donga/Ussa/Yangtu Federal Constituency, was established as a platform to move past internal divisions and collaboratively advance the interests of Taraba’s young population in the political and development spheres. 


Led by figures like Marwan Gambo, the group stressed that the gathering core purpose was inclusion and the creation of a collective agenda to ensure all Taraba youths benefit from political participation and empowerment initiatives.


​During the engagement, the youth delegation expressed gratitude to Hon. Useni for granting them an audience and thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Taraba indigenes into his government.


The delegation emphasized that the platform aims to create awareness for youth empowerment, engage in community outreach, and collaborate with leaders. 


Highlighting the youth as the "backbone of any society," leaders like Hon. Talban Liman and Ibrahim Habu urged the state political elite to prioritize the inclusion of young people, asking for increased consideration for appointments, leadership roles, and board membership.


Marwan Gambo also specifically acknowledged Hon. Useni's role in facilitating UBEC projects across Southern Taraba and his constituency.


​In his response, Hon. Mark Bako Useni welcomed the delegation, declaring his office an open door for youth engagement.


Hon. Bako strongly advised the stakeholders against political discouragement, urging them to participate in politics "now," regardless of their age.


Drawing from his personal experience, having started his political career as a local government chairman in his early 30s, he asserted that the youth are "too ready to participate." He commended the sagacity and resilience of Taraba youths for their dedication to the party, noting that his presence in the National Assembly is, in part, a result of youth support.


Bako confirmed that he has quietly facilitated several appointments for Taraba youth, emphasizing that not all political work is publicized.


​The stakeholders also extended their courtesy visits to Hon. Prince Ayuba Zaku Danpar (Wukari/Ibbi Federal Constituency) and Hon. David Abel Fuah (Kurmi/Gashaka/Sarduna Federal Constituency).


Both lawmakers shared similar counsel, admonishing the youths to maintain strong values, respect the principles of loyalty, dedication, and service, and consistently preach awareness among their peers.


They emphasized the importance of patience, noting that the youths are the "future change" the state is looking for.


The lawmakers appreciated the effort to unite and urged the stakeholders to continue to convene and deliberate on crucial issues that will foster positive change among the youth of Taraba State.
