DISTINGUISHED SENATOR MONGUNO HONORED WITH AWARD OF EXCELLENCE BY NUJ NASS CHAPEL

​Earlier today, in the National  Assembly  Complex– The NUJ NASS Chapel leadership and officials of its press week planning committee paid an official visit to the Distinguished Senator Mohammed Tahir Monguno (Borno North), the Chief Whip of the Senate, at his office.


The visit was marked by the presentation of an Award of Excellence and Quality Representation to the Senator.


The honor was conferred in recognition of his unwavering commitment to the union and his consistent support and accessibility whenever they called upon him.


Senator Monguno, who is celebrated for his distinguished career—rising from Commissioner of Justice and Attorney General of Borno State, to Chief Whip in the House of Representatives, and now serving as the Senate Chief Whip—is regarded as a significant asset to his constituency and the National Assembly.


​During the award presentation, Comrade Abdulkadir Sarafadeen Msc, the NUJ NASS Chapel Chairman, delivered a resounding tribute to the Senator.


He lauded Senator Monguno for his unwavering commitment to the union, service to humanity, and dedication to his senatorial zone.


The Chairman emphasized that the Senator's journey is not one of political luck, but a testament to his capacity and competence, citing the establishment of the Federal Polytechnic Monguno—a monumental project that has profoundly changed the educational landscape of Northern Borno—as one of his most notable legacies.


Comrade Sarafadeen underscored that the leadership he exhibits, which includes showing his work, engaging the public, and countering misinformation, is exemplary in modern politics.


​In his response, Distinguished Senator Mohammed Tahir Monguno expressed his profound gratitude to the NUJ NASS Chapel leadership for deeming him worthy of such a prestigious award.


The Senate Chief Whip thanked them for the recognition and used the opportunity to reaffirm his commitment to the union. 


He promised to stand with them and by them anytime they called, reinforcing the strong relationship between his office and the press corps within the National Assembly.


His remarks highlighted the importance of collaboration between legislators and the media in effective governance and representation.


​Adding to the commendations, Mr. Elijah Ter Vanger, the chairman of the planning committee, also praised the Senator effective leadership and prayed for his continued guidance and success.


The event served as a formal acknowledgment of Senator Monguno impact, not only as the representative for the good people of Borno North but also as a legislator with significant national influence whose contributions are invaluable to the Borno political sphere.
