ONDO STATE TURNS 50: HON. DERIN ADESIDA REFLECTS ON LEGACY, PROGRESS AND THE FUTURE




Member representing Akure North/Akure South Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Derin Adesida, has congratulated the government and people of Ondo State on the occasion of the state’s 50th anniversary, describing the Golden Jubilee as a moment of pride, reflection, and renewed commitment to progress.



He noted that the creation of Ondo State in 1976 marked the beginning of a remarkable journey defined by resilience, cultural heritage, and the indomitable spirit of its people.



According to him, “Fifty years after its creation, Ondo State stands tall as a land of promise, rich in human and natural resources, and blessed with hardworking, peace-loving, and forward-looking citizens.

This Golden Jubilee offers us the opportunity to reflect on our collective achievements, honour the sacrifices of our founding fathers, and renew our resolve to build a greater future for generations yet unborn.”


The federal lawmaker commended past and present leaders of the state for their contributions to governance, infrastructure development, education, healthcare, and economic growth, noting that each administration has played a role in shaping the Ondo State of today.


Hon. Derin Adesida also praised the resilience and unity of the people of the state, stressing that their support, perseverance, and commitment to peace have remained the backbone of the state’s steady progress over the last five decades.


He said “As we celebrate 50 years of statehood, this anniversary should serve as a call to deepen unity, strengthen institutions, and pursue inclusive development that touches every community, from urban centres to rural areas,” 


The federal lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to quality representation and continued advocacy for policies and projects that will accelerate development in Akure North/Akure South Federal Constituency and Ondo State at large.


He concluded by wishing the state continued peace, prosperity, and progress, praying that the next fifty years will usher in greater opportunities, sustainable growth, and improved welfare for all citizens.
