Governor Aiyedatiwa repositions Ondo State Health Sector through human capital development as Workers Secure Permanent Jobs after several years of Engagement as Casual staffs.

Beneficiaries of the recent employment into the Ondo State health sector have expressed profound appreciation to Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for opening pathways to permanent employment and strengthening the state’s human capital advancement after years of limited recruitment into the civil service.

The beneficiaries made this known during a thank-you visit to the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr. Seun Bosede Osamaye, at her office.


They described their appointments as life-changing, particularly for those who had spent between five and 15 years working as casual staff without the security and benefits of permanent employment.

The development, they noted, has restored hope and provided a renewed sense of career stability even at a time when the State is witnessing increased retirements across the public service.


This recruitment, particularly into the health sector, reflects the Aiyedatiwa Administration’s deliberate emphasis on human capital development as a critical component of strengthening public institutions and improving service delivery. By creating opportunities for qualified citizens to transition into permanent positions, the administration is not only addressing years of limited employment opportunities but also ensuring that essential sectors, especially healthcare, are adequately supported with committed and professionally trained personnel.


Speaking during the visit, Dr. Osamaye gave God all the Glory and expressed deep Appreciation tp the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for the opportunity to positively impact lives through public service, noting that she had facilitated employment opportunities for more than 20 individuals from Ifedore LG across various ministries, agencies and parastatals since the Governor appointed her. She said that these set of  beneficiaries are the individuals that  have  served as casual workers for yeqrs  describing the opportunity to assist people into meaningful employment as one of the most rewarding aspects of public service.


The Commissioner described leadership as an opportunity to influence lives positively and create pathways for others to succeed. She particularly appreciated the Akeredolu led Hospital Management Board team and her friend, the Only female board member of the board, Nurse Aarinola Adamolekun and other board members and the Permanent Secretary of the Primary Health care agency, Dr Akanbiemu for assisting the Governor to actualize his dream of a better health system for all. She encouraged the beneficiaries to remain committed to their duties while pursuing further academic and professional advancement to improve their qualifications and position themselves for greater opportunities in their respective fields.


Dr. Osamaye commended His Excellency Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, the Executive Governor of Ondo State for entrusting her with the responsibility to serve, describing his administration as people-centred and committed to restoring hope, developing human capital and creating opportunities for citizens across the State.


The beneficiaries, some of whom had served as casual workers for several years, expressed gratitude to Governor Aiyedatiwa and Dr. Osamaye for what they described as a major turning point in their lives. Mrs. Wunmi Oguntoye of Igbaraoke community in Ifedore LG, who recently secured employment as a Health Assistant spoke on behalf of the five others. Mr. Omoniyi , who had worked for over seven years; Mrs. Yinusa F, who spent almost 13 years as a casual staff; Mrs. Augustine  of Igbaraoke Molete, who served for over five years; and Mrs. Agboola Grace Morenikeji of Oyinkolade Family, Igbaraoke, who worked for almost 15 years as a casual staff, shared their experiences and they all expressed their gratitude to the Governor for wiping off their tears. 


They described their permanent appointments as evidence of compassionate and impactful leadership, expressing particular excitement that years of uncertainty had finally given way to career stability and the opportunity to serve the people of Ondo State in a more meaningful capacity.


In a further gesture of kindness, Dr. Osamaye promised Mrs. Augustine Grace a brand-new phone, adding a personal touch to the beneficiaries’ memorable visit and reinforcing her commitment to supporting and encouraging deserving citizens encouraged them to pass on the baton of good deeds. 


The beneficiaries pledged to reciprocate the opportunity through dedication, professionalism, integrity and excellence in service, while also promising to extend similar support to others whenever they are presented with the opportunity.


The development underscores the growing focus of the Aiyedatiwa Administration on human capital as a driver of institutional renewal, particularly in critical sectors such as healthcare, where the recruitment of new personnel is expected to complement existing manpower and sustain effective service delivery across Ondo State.
